According to the Masan Dongbu Police Station on the 31st, around 5:17 p.m. on the 29th, when a professional baseball game was being held, a spectator in their 20s, identified as A, was severely injured in the head and neck after being struck by a fallen structure near the 3rd base concession at Changwon NC Park.

A was transferred to a hospital and received treatment in the intensive care unit, but ultimately died around 11:15 a.m. on the morning of the day after two days.

According to police and others, the fallen structure was found to be approximately 2.6 meters long, 40 centimeters wide, and weighs about 60 kilograms. It is reported that the structure was a type of aluminum exterior finishing material known as "louver."

Initially, the location where the structure was installed was about 17.5 meters high from the window of the team office above the concession. It was usually fixed in place but fell for unknown reasons on the day of the accident, striking the ceiling of the concession once before falling 3 to 4 meters.

As a result of this accident, A and two others, including B, a younger sibling in their teens, were injured. B is receiving treatment in a hospital for a fractured clavicle, and the other individual is reported to have sustained bruising to the leg.

Police plan to conduct a scene examination in conjunction with the National Institute of Scientific Investigation and investigate the exact circumstances of the accident. A police official noted, "It is expected that investigations will be conducted regarding the negligent homicide by workers against those related to the scene."

Previously, the NC Dinos, a professional baseball team that uses Changwon NC Park as their home ground, issued a statement saying, "We wish a speedy recovery to those who were unfortunately injured, and we are doing our best to take necessary measures within the team," adding, "We will thoroughly investigate the exact cause of the accident with relevant authorities and establish measures to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future."

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) postponed the NC-LG game scheduled for the 30th. To conduct safety inspections of the stadium, the three-game series that was to be held at Changwon NC Park on the 1st of next month will be played without spectators.
