The North Gyeongsang Province Fire Department said on the 29th that the wildfire, which had been under control in the northern part of the province, partially reignited overnight in Andong and Uiseong. As soon as daylight broke, the forest authorities deployed helicopters, and by the morning, the flames in Andong were extinguished.

The fire department received reports of smoke near the Namhu-myeon district of Andong from the night before until early morning. The wildfire is believed to have reignited around 3 a.m. on that day. It was reported that the flames were spreading long at the time of the reignition. The forest authorities have deployed 11 helicopters to extinguish any remaining embers in Andong.

Korea Expressway Corporation blocked both directions of the central highway from Nam Andong IC to Seo Andong IC due to the resurfacing wildfire starting at 5 a.m. Traffic has resumed since the flames were brought under control.

The fire department has deployed nine helicopters in the Uiseong area to control the flames. About 280 personnel, including members of the specialized wildfire extinguishing team, public officials, and soldiers from the 50th Army Division, are also engaged in the firefighting efforts. There is a possibility that the wildfire could spread further in Sagok-myeon, which borders Cheongsong.

In other areas, smoke is reported to be coming from the locations where embers are being cleared. Five helicopters have been deployed at the wildfire site near the Yangsu Hydroelectric Power Plant in Cheongsong County, and four helicopters are conducting firefighting operations in Samui-ri and Okgye-ri in Yeongyang County where smoke is visible.

The wildfire that occurred on the morning of the 22nd around 11:24 a.m. in the hillside of Goeisan-ri in Anpyeong-myeon, Uiseong County, quickly spread to Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok due to strong winds, reaching a maximum gust speed of 27 meters per second. According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters, as of that morning, 25 people had died in the five cities and counties of Uiseong, Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok due to the wildfire, with five seriously injured and 24 with minor injuries.

The Korea Forest Service previously stated that all main fires in the regions of Yeongdeok, Uiseong, Andong, Cheongsong, and Yeongyang were extinguished by 5 p.m. the previous day. Lim Sang-seob, head of the Korea Forest Service, noted at the time, "When the main fire is extinguished, local governments will focus on clearing the embers," and added, "It could take at least 2-3 days or up to 5-6 days for complete extinguishment."
