It was reported on the 18th that the entertainment company TR Entertainment, where the late Shin Sa-dong Tiger (real name Lee Ho-yang) served as the general producer, has filed for bankruptcy.
The Seoul Bankruptcy Court's Bankruptcy Division 16 declared a simplified bankruptcy for TR Entertainment on the 13th. A simplified bankruptcy procedure is conducted when the debtor (TR Entertainment) has assets of less than 500 million won at the time of the bankruptcy declaration.
The reason for the bankruptcy filing was management difficulties. TR Entertainment reportedly faced a lack of revenue and a halt in transactions with major investors following the death of their general producer, Shin Sa-dong Tiger.
TR Entertainment is a small entertainment company established in June 2020. It is home to singer Yoo Seong-eun, EXID's Ellie, and the girl group TRI.BE. The late Shin Sa-dong Tiger was the general producer until his sudden passing last year.
Shin Sa-dong Tiger was a producer who wrote and composed popular songs such as 4Minute's "Hot Issue," T-ara's "Bo Peep Bo Peep" and "Roly-Poly," Apink's "NoNoNo," HyunA's "Bubble Pop," Troublemaker's "Trouble Maker," EXID's "Up & Down," and MOMOLAND's "Bboom Bboom." He was found dead on February 23 last year at an undisclosed location. Tributes from the singers he had worked with continued after his death.
Before his death, Shin Sa-dong Tiger was in the process of producing a new song for TRI.BE, a girl group under TR Entertainment, set to return after about a year. Just three days before the news of his passing was reported, he posted about TRI.BE on social media, promoting the team. TRI.BE did take to the stage shortly after Shin Sa-dong Tiger's death, but it is known that there have been no significant regular activities since then.
