The court has permitted Homeplus, which is undergoing corporate rehabilitation procedures, to prioritize the repayment of unpaid settlement amounts for January and February to in-store vendors.

The Seoul Rehabilitation Court's Fourth Division (Chief Judge Jung Jun-young) noted on the 11th that it had accepted Homeplus's application for early repayment. The amount that Homeplus failed to pay in settlement funds for in-store vendors for January and February 2025 is approximately 112.7 billion won.

The court stated, “The necessity for early repayment of the requested amount has been recognized to ensure preferential protection for cooperating companies, the debtor's continuous and normal business operations, and the maintenance of essential existing transaction relationships.”

Generally, during the rehabilitation process, corporations cannot pay debts as they desire; however, the court has taken measures to allow Homeplus to prioritize payments owed to transaction partners during its business operations.

This is the second time the court has granted early repayment of debts to Homeplus. On the 7th, the court also approved early repayment for goods and services worth approximately 345.7 billion won for the three months of December 2024 and January and February 2025 to cooperating companies.
