Law firm BKL(Bae, Kim & Lee) announced on the 10th that it has recruited former Director General of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Tax Crimes Investigation Division Park Hyun-kyu and former Director General of the Seoul Family Court Jeong Hye-eun.
Attorney Park Hyun-kyu (Judicial Research and Training Institute 34th) is evaluated as an expert in 'financial and securities crime investigations, tax investigations, and virtual assets.' Attorney Park is expected to collaborate with the financial and securities crime investigation response team and the tax crimes investigation response team as part of BKL's criminal group.
Starting as a prosecutor at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office in 2005, Attorney Park gained investigative experience at various district prosecutors' offices, including the Jinju Branch of the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office, the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office, and the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office. Based on his experience in financial and securities crime investigations at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office in 2015, he was dispatched to the Korea Exchange in 2016 to work as a legal advisor, handling tasks related to unfair trading in capital markets, listing examinations, and delisting reviews. He has also served as a senior prosecutor in the Criminal Division 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (responsible for food and medicine), Chief Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Investigation Division of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, and Chief Prosecutor of the Tax Crimes Investigation Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.
He recently participated in a task force (TF) related to the introduction of penalty surcharges for unfair trading, the legislation of methods for calculating undue gains, and the introduction of a mitigation system for voluntary reporters in the amended enforcement decree of the Capital Market Act. He also worked as a Capital Market Investigation Planning Officer at the Financial Services Commission, overseeing investigations into unfair trading in capital markets and virtual assets.
Attorney Jeong Hye-eun (Judicial Research and Training Institute 35th) will join as the Head of Team in the family dispute team at BKL, handling matters related to inheritance and divorce. Attorney Jeong is regarded as knowledgeable in practical practices due to her long-term service as a specialized family law judge at the Seoul Family Court.
Attorney Jeong joined in 2006, serving in various roles across the Incheon District Court, the Seoul Administrative Court, the Gwangju District Court, and the Suwon District Court before retiring as a Director General of the Seoul Family Court. From 2014 until recently, she took charge of family-related tasks such as divorce, inheritance property division, adult guardianship, youth protection, non-litigation, and applications. She participated in the establishment of the enforcement regulations of the Special Act on the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes, the revision of the child support calculation guidelines, and the revision of commentary on the Civil Act (inheritance), contributing to studies and improvements in the guardianship system. She was also selected as an outstanding judge in the '2023 Judge Evaluation' by the Seoul Bar Association.
