The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that as of the 21st, Kim Tae-kyun, former Deputy Minister for Planning and Coordination, was appointed as the Administrative Deputy Mayor, and Kim Sung-bo, former Director of the Disaster Safety Office, was appointed as the Administrative Deputy Mayor.
The Administrative Deputy Mayors are national civil servants at the Vice Minister level. They were finally appointed after receiving approval from the acting president following the recommendation by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
Kim Tae-kyun, the Administrative Deputy Mayor, was born in 1969 and graduated from the 38th National Public Service Examination (1994). He earned a master's degree from Yonsei University and completed further studies at Seoul National University and Flinders University in Australia.
He has held key positions in the Seoul Metropolitan Government for 30 years, including Chief of Planning, Director General for Policy Planning, Commissioner of the Administrative Bureau, Head of the Waterworks Bureau, Spokesperson, and Director General for Economic Policy.
Kim Sung-bo, the Administrative Deputy Mayor, was born in 1968 and graduated from the 3rd local public service examination (1997). He completed his studies in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Seoul. Over the past 27 years, he has served in key technical roles in the fields of dwellings and urban planning, including Director of Urban Maintenance, Director of Housing Planning, Director General for Housing Policy, Head of Urban Infrastructure, and Director of the Disaster Safety Office.
