On the 24th, the Korea Fire Agency announced the implementation plan for this year's firefighter recruitment exam on the 119 official website.
The total number of firefighter positions scheduled for this year is 1,927, an increase of 244 compared to last year.
The open competitive recruitment without restrictions on qualifications, education, or experience will select 906 individuals, while the competitive recruitment for experienced personnel will select 1,021.
The competitive recruitment for experienced personnel will cover 16 areas: ▲Emergency rescue 699 (68.5%) ▲Rescue 201 (19.7%) ▲Fire-related fields 67 (6.5%) ▲Information and communication 8 (0.8%) ▲Psychological counseling 7 (0.7%) ▲Others 39 (3.8%).
Applications will be accepted from 10 a.m. on Feb. 17 until 6 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the Korea Fire Agency's 119 official website. The written exam is scheduled to take place on March 29 at test centers nationwide. The final successful candidates will be announced on July 18.
Successful candidates will receive 24 weeks of basic training at the Central Fire Academy and local fire academies. Upon completion of this training, they will be appointed to the rank of firefighter (firefighting staff, nuclear, electrical) and will work within fire organizations.
Unlike last year, the Korea Fire Agency noted that the recognition period for scores from various English proficiency tests, including the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC), that substitute the English subject has been extended from a maximum of 3 years to 5 years. Additionally, the validity period for the Korean History Proficiency Test, which substitutes the Korean history subject, has been changed from the previous 4 years to no validity period.
