The National Research Council of Science & Technology (NST) held a ceremony on the 27th at 10 a.m. in the auditorium on the first floor of the Sejong National Research Complex to award outstanding employees on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of NST's establishment in 2025. This conference was planned to discuss technical responses and the need for strengthened cooperation to block counterfeit goods. The event consisted of three sessions: a technology exhibition and demonstration to prevent the distribution of counterfeit goods, a seminar on counterfeit goods prevention policies between South Korea and the U.S., and an exhibition for in-depth consultations between trademark holders and companies holding anti-counterfeiting technologies.
The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) and the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province held an opening ceremony for the 'Jeju AX Convergence Research Lab' on the 27th at the Jeju Techno Park within the Jeju Advanced Science and Technology Complex. The institute unveiled plans to actively build AI research infrastructure in the region by linking the government’s 'AI 3 Axis' national strategy with Jeju's digital innovation strategy. The Jeju AX Convergence Research Lab will promote research in three core areas specialized for Jeju: AI-based climate technologies, sovereign AI transformation (AX) tourism service technology development, and ultra-low-power AI semiconductors and talent cultivation.
