The Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) Seoul Biohub Project Team held the 20th Hongneung Forum in collaboration with the Hongneung Forum Association on the 5th. The Hongneung Forum is an academic research forum created by universities, research institutions, and promotion support organizations located near Hongneung in Seoul to explore strategies for regional and national development. More than 100 officials from domestic and international pharmaceutical and bio corporations, startups, investment institutions, research institutions, and universities attended this forum.

The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) announced on the 5th that it held the "ETRI Conference 2025" at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. The event featured the world's first demonstration of 200Gbps-class 6G, the unveiling of an AI guidance robot, and strategic technology seminars. ETRI Director Bang Seung-chan also took the stage wearing glasses designed for the visually impaired and accompanied by the robot Eddie. This year's ETRI Conference, now in its fourth edition, consists of technology presentations and experiential exhibitions.

The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute announced that Choi Gi-yong, head of the Nuclear Safety Research Institute, was elected as chair at the 77th Committee on Nuclear Safety of Installations (CSNI) held in France under the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This is the first time a Korean expert has been elected as chair of CSNI. The term is three years. Choi is an expert in nuclear safety, having previously served as the head of the Severe Accident Safety Research Division and head of the Hanaro Neutron Research Group.

The National Gwacheon Science Museum is jointly promoting a field training program where natural science students from Dongguk University serve as exhibition guides at the science museum. The two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding at Dongguk University's Myungjin Hall on the morning of the 5th to foster talent in basic science and expand scientific culture. During the vacation period, Dongguk University natural science students will work as exhibition guides and exhibition experience assistants at the Gwacheon Science Museum.
