Hallym Burn Foundation recently noted that it received 100 million won in sponsorship from Gowoonsesang Cosmetics, which owns the cosmetic brand Dr. G, on the 2nd. The foundation uses the sponsorship funds to support treatment costs and caregiving for burn patients and to assist them in achieving independence.
Gowoonsesang Cosmetics has cumulatively sponsored 350 million won to the foundation since 2021. The foundation operates a hospital school for children and adolescents whose education has been interrupted and promotes projects to enhance vocational capabilities. The sponsorship funds are used to develop and supply compression garments necessary for burn scar management and to train experts in this field.
The foundation also utilizes sponsorship funds for burn experience coordinator activities. This involves individuals who have previously undergone burn treatment helping burn patients recover. The foundation explains that this can prevent the isolation of burn patients and eliminate healthcare blind spots.
Gowoonsesang Cosmetics is a cosmetics corporation established in 2003 by dermatologist Dr. Ahn Geon-Young. Heo Joon, chairman of Hallym Burn Foundation (president of Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital), said, “I extend my gratitude to Gowoonsesang Cosmetics for making a change in the overall recovery of burn patients, going beyond simple donations.” Lee Ju-Ho, CEO of Gowoonsesang Cosmetics, stated, “I hope this helps burn patients return to their daily lives.”
