The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) announced on the 2nd that it will open part of the existing exhibition space of the 'KAIST Vision Hall' located at its Daejeon campus as the 'KAIST Hall of Science and Technology'. Through this renovation, the Vision Hall has been expanded to highlight not only the footprints of KAIST but also the significant achievements of major scientists in the Korean scientific community. The Vision Hall will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and it will be free for both KAIST members and the general public. The Korea Invention Promotion Association noted that the South Korean delegation achieved an excellent result with a total of 16 awards at the '2025 Malaysia International Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exhibition'. This exhibition is the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia and was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) from May 29 to 31 (local time). This year, a total of 15 countries participated with over 900 inventions, and the South Korean delegation won 7 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and special awards.
The National Museum of Science will invite Kim Jung-hoon, the representative of the popular science YouTuber 'Science Dream', as a speaker for the June session of 'Miscellaneous Science Lectures'. This special lecture will be held on June 14 at the Science Hall of the National Museum of Science, and it will explore various phenomena hidden in everyday life under the theme 'When you get obsessed with something, it becomes science'. Reservations for the miscellaneous science lectures can be made on a first-come, first-served basis through the National Museum of Science website, with booking opening at 10 a.m. on June 2. The lecture is free of charge, and spectators who do not make a reservation can also register on-site for remaining seats on the day.
The National Gwacheon Science Museum has declared a 'Earth Environment Event Week' in celebration of Environment Day (June 5) and Ocean Day (June 8) and will operate various experience programs from June 3 to 15. Programs include 'Hello! Earth', where participants post messages and commitments for the future of our planet, 'Cheer up! Earthlings', which supports overcoming the climate crisis, a science play 'Our Clean Sea' that restores coral colors and allows participants to experience the seriousness of marine debris, and 'Upcycling Coffee Grounds', which upcycles coffee grounds.
