Sakong Myung, the chief researcher at the Korea Railroad Research Institute, has been appointed as the director of the Korea Railroad Research Institute.
The new director Sakong Myung earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Hanyang University and a master's and doctoral degree in civil engineering from Purdue University in the United States. Since joining the Korea Railroad Research Institute in 2003, he has served as the head of the research strategy department and the head of the future strategy center, and has held positions including president of the Korea Railroad Society and technical committee member of the integrated development promotion council for railway underground construction under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The term of the new director Sakong Myung is three years starting from the 19th.
