The appearance of the red starlight shimmering looks like a painting. It is NGC 346, the youngest star cluster in the Small Magellanic Cloud. A star cluster refers to a group of stars that are bound together due to gravity. NGC 346 is an energetic cluster, approximately 3 to 5 million years old.

The Magellanic Clouds were first discovered by the Persian astronomer in 964 A.D. The name comes from Ferdinand Magellan, the navigator who became the first in the world to cross the Pacific Ocean and arrive in the Philippines in the 16th century. The Magellanic Clouds are divided into the Large Magellanic Cloud and the Small Magellanic Cloud. The Small Magellanic Cloud is located 200,000 light-years away from Earth (1 light-year is the distance light travels in one year, roughly 9.46 trillion kilometers). Its mass is equivalent to 7 billion times that of Taeyang.
