Kim Ki-nam, a senior advisor at Samsung Electronics, received the IEEE Robert N. Noyce Medal at the '2025 IEEE Honors Ceremony' held in Tokyo, Japan, on the 24th for his contributions to the advancement of the semiconductor industry.
This award was established in 1999 to honor Robert Noyce, a founder of Intel, and is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the global semiconductor industry.
In his acceptance speech, Kim Ki-nam noted, "Semiconductors are a key technology that transforms human life, and as someone who has led their advancement, I consider this award very meaningful. I would like to share this honor with everyone who has contributed to the growth of the Korean semiconductor industry to a global level."
