The Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) announced that it held the first year kickoff meeting for the '2025 Korea-Uzbekistan International Technology Innovation Cooperation Project' on the 15th at the Innovation Development Agency in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This project aims to systematically support the establishment of the Uzbek government's Technopark national strategy and to enhance policy capabilities for fostering a science and technology innovation ecosystem. STEPI plans to continue follow-up programs, including policy consulting, joint research, and capacity-building training, until the end of this year.

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 18th that it appointed the third term members of the Researcher Rights Protection Committee and held the first Researcher Rights Protection meeting at the Coreana Cosmetics Hotel in Seoul. The committee is responsible for reviewing objections when researchers or research institutions receive prior notification of sanctions, such as restrictions on participation in national research and development projects or imposition of additional monetary sanctions due to misconduct. The third-term committee consists of a total of 97 members, including 92 private sector experts and 5 government members from key ministries involved in national research and development projects.

The Korean Intellectual Property Office announced on the afternoon of the 18th that it hosted the 'Strategy Conference for the Introduction and Expansion of the Employee Invention System' at the Science and Technology Convention Center in Gangnam, Seoul. This conference was held to raise awareness about employee invention across various sectors. About 400 attendees included chief executive officers (CEOs) of corporations, intellectual property managers from various institutions, and patent attorneys and lawyers.

The prestigious global academic conference in the field of computational biology, 'RECOMB (Research in Computational Molecular Biology),' will be held in Seoul at the end of April. Yonsei University announced that it will host the 'RECOMB 2025 Conference' from the 24th to the 29th on its Sinchon Campus. Approximately 1,200 scientists from over 30 countries, including the United States, China, Germany, and Japan, are expected to attend the event.
