The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) announced that it held a signboard ceremony on the 9th for the establishment of an artificial intelligence (AI) entertainment technology research center in collaboration with Galaxy Corporation. KAIST is continuously promoting a 'Tech-Art' convergence model that expands the horizon of the content industry through the fusion of emotional technology and cultural imagination, going beyond simple technology development. To this end, KAIST is working towards the establishment of the research center alongside the singer G-Dragon, an artist affiliated with Galaxy Corporation and a visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KAIST. The AI entertainment technology research center is set to officially launch in the third quarter of this year.
The Institute for Basic Science (IBS) announced that Director General Hyeon Taek-Hwan of the nanoparticle research group received the International Alumni Contribution Award from the University of Illinois on the 2nd. Director Hyeon obtained a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of Illinois in 1996 and has been a leading global researcher in the field of nanoscience, particularly in the synthesis, assembly, and medical applications of uniform-sized nanoparticles. The award ceremony and commemorative lecture will be held on the 24th.
The National Science Museum announced on the 9th that it will host the future-oriented advanced science and technology festival '2025 TechConE' in the vicinity of the National Science Museum. The first event of 'TechConE,' held over three sessions this year, will take place from April 26 to 27 and will focus on robots that permeate people's lives. The event will feature product exhibitions and hands-on experiences from major domestic robot corporations, as well as busking performances and lectures.
The Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science announced that it will jointly host the '22nd Measurement Club Comprehensive Workshop' with the Korea Association of Standards and Technology Organization (KASTO) at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) on the 9th and 10th. This event is a platform for experts from academia, industry, and research to gather and discuss the latest technological trends and field applications in each measurement field. This year, it is expected to attract over 400 specialists from more than 100 organizations.
