■The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) announced on the 2nd that it held the 'AI talk concert with future generations' in collaboration with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry at its Daejeon headquarters. This event was organized to facilitate communication among business and academic leaders, KAIST alumni founders in the AI sector, and young researchers about the changes that AI has brought to the research ecosystem and industrial structure, as well as its future direction. KAIST President Lee Kwang-hyung and Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Chey Tae-won were in attendance.
■The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 3rd that it held a kickoff ceremony for the establishment of the 5th Basic Plan for the Fostering and Supporting of Science and Technology Personnel at the Conrad Hotel in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul. The Basic Plan for the Fostering and Supporting of Science and Technology Personnel is the government’s top-level plan related to science and technology personnel, established every five years. The ceremony was attended by Minister Yoo Sang-im, the President of the Korea Institute of S&T Evaluation and Planning, and the Chairman of the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity, among other leaders and experts in the science and technology field.
■The National Science Museum announced that it will hold a special exhibition titled 'Crossing the Line in Science: Music Edition' starting on the 4th. The project involved the Sensory Extension Research Laboratory of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute and the Music Audio Computing Laboratory of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, among others, creating various content that blends science and technology with music. A virtual human named 'DODO' with an idol concept will assist with the guidance and explanations of the exhibition, tailored to the digital generation's perspective. This special exhibition will run from the 4th to June 22.
■The Korea Aerospace Administration announced on the 3rd that Phil Diamond, the Secretary-General of the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO), visited the space agency to discuss cooperation related to the development of the international giant radio telescope (Square Kilometre Array, SKA). The space agency expressed its intention to participate in the SKA project at the SKAO board meeting on March 18th. During this meeting, the Korea Aerospace Administration and SKAO discussed Korea's membership procedures and the dispatch of domestic researchers to the SKAO.
