Olympus Korea appointed Takeshi Tamai as the new CEO effective April 1.

New CEO Takeshi Tamai joined Olympus Korea in 2004 as a marketing manager in the medical division, later serving as head of the medical division in 2012 and as vice president of Olympus Korea last year. He led the medical endoscope business in the Asia region as well. During his tenure as senior vice president of the gastroenterology and respiratory division in the Asia-Pacific region in 2017, he was recognized for significantly contributing to Olympus's growth as a global medical corporation by expanding sales and market share.

CEO Takeshi Tamai said, "Olympus Korea is taking the lead in creating a patient-centered healthcare environment through medical technology," and noted, "We will continue to strive to be a trusted corporation for domestic medical professionals and patients, achieving sustainable growth and contributing to the advancement of the Korean medical industry."

Olympus Korea is a global medical corporation that provides diagnostic and treatment solutions, including medical endoscopes, laparoscopic equipment, and surgical instruments. In October 2017, it invested approximately 37 billion won to establish a medical training center (KTEC) in Songdo, Incheon, offering professional product training and demonstration opportunities to healthcare professionals.
