Medical artificial intelligence (AI) corporation Lunit has signed a contract to supply its chest X-ray AI imaging analysis solution 'Lunit Insight CXR' to Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group (HMG), the largest private medical institution in Saudi Arabia, it noted on the 6th.
HMG is a large private medical institution operating more than 20 medical facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain.
With this contract, over 1 million chest X-ray images are expected to be analyzed through Lunit AI over three years. This is the second contract following last year's supply agreement of 'Lunit Insight MMG' that HMG signed with Lunit. It is also significant that HMG decided to make additional purchases of other products after directly verifying Lunit AI solutions through the first contract.
Suh Beom-seok, CEO of Lunit, said, "The Middle East is a strategically very important market with high demand for the digitization of medical infrastructure, and active investments are being made by the government level," adding, "The additional contract with HMG reaffirms the local trust in our AI technology and corporations/products."
Lunit participated in the 'SEHA Virtual Hospital' project, a key task of the Saudi government's national policy project 'Vision 2030', achieving its first success in the public healthcare sector and is expanding its market presence across Saudi Arabia. CEO Suh said, "We will continue to actively expand cooperation with medical institutions and the government in the Middle East."
