The 'Quantum Korea 2025' event, where research achievements in quantum science and technology and services from corporations can be seen in one place, will be held for three days from June 24 to 26 at the second exhibition hall of the Yangjae aT Center.
The Ministry of Science and ICT noted on the 18th that it held the launch ceremony of the Quantum Korea 2025 organizing committee. The ministry expanded the Quantum Information Week, which was an exchange event for researchers in the field of quantum science and technology, into Quantum Korea starting in 2023, involving both domestic and international experts and corporations.
This year's chairperson of the Quantum Korea 2025 organizing committee is Professor Kim Tae-hyun of Seoul National University, who leads the quantum research team. Participants include Han Sang-wook, president of the Quantum Information Society; Kim Eun-sung, dean of the KAIST Graduate School of Quantum Technology; Jeong Yeon-wook, professor at Sungkyunkwan University; Kim Yong-soo, head of the Quantum Technology Division of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology; Choi Jae-hyuk, director of the Quantum Technology Research Institute at the Korea Institute of Standards and Science; Yoon Cheon-joo, deputy minister of the Quantum Technology Research Headquarters at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute; and corporations represented by Lee Jun-gu, CEO of Qnoba Computing and professor at KAIST, and Yang Seung-hyun, CTO of SK Telecom.
Kwon Hyun-joon, director of the basic and fundamental research policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, 'As we approach the global year of quantum science and technology in 2025, interest in quantum technology worldwide is hotter than ever.' He added, 'We will continue to communicate with relevant agencies and organizations to ensure that this year's event is a successful one, allowing Quantum Korea to become a truly global festival for quantum science and technology research and industry.'
