Choi Whee-young, who was nominated as the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has resigned from his position as the representative of Nolly Universe.
According to Nolly Universe on the 15th, Choi expressed his intention to resign the day before. The resignation process has been completed. Accordingly, Nolly Universe, which had a co-representative system, is expected to operate under a solo leadership system with Bae Bo-chan for the time being.
Choi graduated from Kyungsung High School and the English Language and Literature Department at Sogang University, then worked as a journalist for about 10 years. After that, he moved to NHN, the predecessor of Naver, in 2002, following a stint at Yahoo Korea. He served as the head of planning at the Naver headquarters and was the CEO from 2007 to 2009.
He founded and operated the personalized travel platform Triple in 2016, and was appointed as the CEO of Interpark in 2022, leading the merger with Yanolja Platform. Last year, he became a co-representative of Nolly Universe, the merged company.
Choi began his schedule as a ministerial nominee by working for the first time at the office established for the confirmation hearing preparation near the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, located in Jongno District, Seoul, the day before.
