HDC I-Park Mall announced on the 11th that it will expand the Gundam Base store on the 6th floor of the Yongsan location into the 'Bandai Namco Korea Store' on the 15th.
This store, covering an area of 827㎡ (250 pyeong), is the largest Bandai integrated store in Korea, approximately 60% larger than the existing Gundam Base store. True to being the first global store with a country name in its store name, it offers all brands and services distributed by Bandai Namco Korea.
The Gundam Base, Ichiban Kuji, and Tamashii Spot Seoul, which previously operated in shop-in-shop formats, along with KARD, GBO (gacha), the One Piece card game, and Little Bear Jackie, have newly entered the store.
Within the GBO brand, 355 gacha machines have been installed to enhance the fun of selecting and drawing. Additionally, Tamashii Spot Seoul, which has a strong fan base, has expanded its area to about twice its previous size to showcase a variety of products.
Choi Yong-hwa, director of sales at HDC I-Park Mall, noted, "Manga content is gaining attention as killer content for attracting visitors, blurring the lines between subculture and mass culture" and added, "I expect the Bandai Namco Korea Store to establish itself as a flagship store where popular intellectual property (IP) can be experienced."
