On the 10th, Sae-A Trading, a clothing manufacturing and export company under the Global Sae-A Group, announced that it was selected for the A-List, the highest grade in the '2024 Supply Chain Participation Assessment' conducted by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a global environmental, social, and governance assessment organization.
CDP is an international non-profit organization that supports the disclosure of environmental management information for corporations, cities, regions, and public institutions, assessing the level of corporate responses to environmental issues such as climate change, water resources, and forests, and making this information public.
The SEA assessment focuses on four core areas: corporations' greenhouse gas reduction targets, management of Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions in the supply chain, supplier participation strategies, and governance establishment. The assessment results serve as a crucial indicator for understanding the supply chain ESG management levels of global clients and stakeholders.
Last year, 22,777 corporations were evaluated, and among them, the top 1,395 companies made it to the 'A-List'. Currently, 64 companies, including Sae-A Trading, have been selected from domestic corporations, with Sae-A Trading being the only clothing manufacturing company on the list.
Seo Yeon, Deputy Minister of Sae-A Trading, noted, 'This A-grade selection is an achievement that shows Sae-A Trading's efforts to move towards a sustainable future through close collaboration with our suppliers,' and added, 'We will continue to pursue harmonious climate actions.'
Sae-A Trading has been building a greenhouse gas inventory since 2018, collecting and analyzing over 100 supply chain data through its own Sae-A Carbon Control System (SCCS) platform. In 2023, it elevated its ESG dedicated organization to operate directly under the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and has received approval from the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), becoming the first in the domestic textile industry to do so.
