The izakaya brand ‘Ukuya,’ a subsidiary of Genesis BBQ Group, announced on the 9th that it has experienced rapid sales growth through a major menu renewal. It seems that they will expand their market with a variety of specialty dishes for dinner, such as skewered grilled food and nabe.
The newly revised menu includes six specialty dishes: ▲motsunabe ▲sukiyakienabe ▲spicy katsunabe ▲beef bean sprout stir-fry ▲sujiodeng nabe ▲okonomiyaki, as well as nine types of skewered items, including chicken wings, gizzard, breast, chicken skin, and whole squid. In addition, six side menu items (charcoal grilled rice bowl with tuna salad, mochi ridofu, wasabi cheese fondue, yuzu tomato, truffle eggs) and 12 types of highballs (Kaku highball, lemon boy highball, yuzu highball, ginger highball, melon highball, etc.) will also be introduced.
The renewed menu has been initially introduced at the Gangnam Yeoksam and Siheung Baegot locations. The Gangnam Yeoksam location, which has the highest pedestrian traffic, saw a 30% sales increase just one month after the new menu was launched. The Siheung Baegot location, which is directly operated and adjacent to an apartment complex, doubled its sales in just 50 days after introducing the new menu.
Ukuya intends to gradually introduce the new menu not only at the Gangnam Yeoksam and Siheung Baegot locations but also at upcoming and existing outlets. A representative from Ukuya noted, “The renewal of the menu, including the introduction of specialty dishes and skewered items, has continuously increased evening guests, driving sales growth. We will continue to expand the menu as consumers desire, so that Ukuya can develop into a brand more loved by customers.”
