Lotte Mulsan announced on the 30th that it will hold the '2025 Lotte Aquathlon' on the 6th of next month at Seokchon Lake and Lotte World Tower.
Since its start in the summer of 2022, the 'Lotte Aquathlon' is now in its fourth year, combining swimming at Seokchon Lake and the vertical marathon 'Sky Run' at Lotte World Tower.
Lotte Mulsan explained that the event is designed to provide citizens with a new form of sports experience and to share the value of health.
This year, participants will swim two laps, 1.5 km, around Seokchon Lake and climb 2,917 steps from the first to the 123rd floor of Lotte World Tower.
For safety reasons, athletes who have no swimming records from the past five years or are participating for the first time will undergo a preliminary swimming test the day before the event. Those who do not pass the swimming test will only be allowed to participate in the running portion at Lotte World Tower.
Recruitment for participants for this event, which began on May 23 through the Korea Triathlon Association, closed on the same day with 800 participants.
All participants will receive souvenirs such as T-shirts, swim caps, and completion medals. The top three male and female competitors in the institutional sector will receive trophies along with Spider gift certificates.
Lotte has consistently implemented water quality improvement projects at Seokchon Lake, receiving first-class ratings in most water quality environmental standards last year.
On the day of the event, scanning the QR code on the water droplet stand set up at Seokchon Lake will trigger an animation effect showing the water droplet character appearing in the middle of the lake and throwing a soil ball to help improve the lake's water quality.
