E-commerce platform solution corporation Cafe24 will introduce a 'four-day workweek' starting next month. This expansion of benefits comes four years after implementing biweekly Friday off in 2021.

According to relevant industry sources on the 26th, Cafe24 notified its employees that it would implement the four-day workweek from July. The existing off days, which were implemented twice a month, will be expanded to weekly Fridays off.

There will be no increase in working hours on other days or reduction in salaries due to Friday off. The annual leave system will also remain the same as before. Additionally, compensatory leave will be granted for those who work on Fridays.

The company explained that this is a result of continuously improving work productivity through artificial intelligence (AI) and automation.

A representative from Cafe24 noted, "With technological advancements enhancing work efficiency, we have entered an era where creative and strategic thinking becomes a core competitive advantage." They added, "We will create a new work culture where a four-day workweek allows members to truly focus, fostering individual creativity and continuous organizational growth in a virtuous cycle."
