Lotte Mart announced on the 26th that it has opened the 'Grand Grocery Guri' inside the Guri Comprehensive Market in Inchang-dong, Guri City, Gyeonggi Province. This marks the reopening of the Guri location, which had been in operation from 1999 to 2021, after approximately 4 years.

After the closure of Lotte Mart's Guri location, Guri City pushed to attract a large supermarket as a local grocery market that replaced it closed due to poor management. Lotte Mart explained that it decided to reopen in the form of the 'Grand Grocery' specialized in groceries to meet the community's expectations.

The Grand Grocery Guri is the second location after the Eunpyeong branch, dedicating 90% of its total area to food. At the store entrance, a 30-meter-long display of deli products, which are ready-to-eat items, has been prominently arranged. The selection of deli products has increased by 50% compared to previous stores. The 'Daily Meal Solution' specialty corner offers over 500 types of convenient meals.

It also operates 'Bottle Bunker Select,' which aggregates popular products from Lotte Mart's alcohol specialty store 'Bottle Bunker.' It carries over 1,000 types of wines and whiskies, and it operates a non-alcoholic wine zone along with the Chunho location.

The Guri location has also strengthened its content for price stability. Every week, 10 types of fresh products are selected and offered at ultra-low prices, while the meat section operates retail pack meat products that consumers can portion themselves. 'Guri City Living Vegetable,' linked to the Guri Agricultural and Fishery Wholesale Market, is sold at over 30% cheaper than regular products.

Additionally, the second floor of the store is designed as a 'customer stay-type store' strengthened with content for toddlers and families, including Toys R Us, a cultural center, and a book café.

Within a 3km radius of the Guri location, 150,000 households reside, with a high proportion of young households in their 30s to 40s and families with children. The opening of Donggureung Station on subway line 8 and the intensified entry into redeveloped and reconstructed complexes are continuing to attract younger demographics.

Lotte Mart plans to utilize the Grand Grocery Guri as a key base for its online grocery business, 'Lotte Mart Zeta,' in the northeastern part of Gyeonggi. Customers can purchase the same products available in the Guri offline store through the Lotte Mart Zeta app.

Kang Sung-hyun, CEO of Lotte Mart and Super, noted, 'Having returned to Guri City after 4 years, we have presented a next-generation model that combines the Grand Grocery and the mall-type store,' adding, 'We will use Lotte Mart Zeta as a key base to provide the best shopping environment that satisfies Guri citizens both online and offline.'
