Since both companies operate a nationwide network of agencies, they appear to be examining whether there were any unfair practices during the transaction process.

This investigation is reported to aim to determine the circumstances of violations of the agency law, including whether the headquarters forced promotional expenses or passed on expenses for interior and facility investments.

The Fair Trade Commission typically determines violations after field investigations, followed by summoning relevant parties for questioning and analyzing materials. If a violation is confirmed, corrective orders as well as penalty surcharges or even prosecution could be possible.

A Fair Trade Commission official said, 'We are examining the overall allegations of agency law violations by the two companies.'
