People Power Party lawmaker Choi Eun-seok said on the 11th, “Based on the experience accumulated in corporations, I will propose policy and legislative solutions for the future of Korea’s retail industry.”
Commissioner Choi, a member of the Strategy and Finance Committee, noted during a congratulatory speech at the “2025 ChosunBiz Consumer and Retail Forum” held at the Grand Ballroom of the Westin Josun Hotel in Seoul that “all industries will expand into the global market centered around K brands in the future.”
Choi is a politician with a background as an entrepreneur who served as the CEO of CJ CheilJedang and was selected as one of the 100 top CEOs in Korea in 2022.
He said, “Many people have been struggling with global issues, such as tariffs, since the inauguration of the Trump administration in the United States.” He added, “I fully agree that the theme of this forum, ‘In an era of uncertainty, K brands are the answer,’ is the most important agenda for the current Korean economy.”
He also stated, “I hope today’s forum will be a valuable opportunity for everyone to gain insights on various issues” and added, “I wish it would serve as a chance for the Korean economy to regain vitality, and as a result, lead to the emergence of many of our number one industries in the global market.”
Lawmaker Choi said, “As a member of the Strategy and Finance Committee, I will think together for Korea’s future,” and added, “My office is always open, so please come and discuss with me.”
