The domestic chicken franchise Genesis BBQ Group announced on the 10th that it will sponsor the Asia tour match in Seoul of the prestigious Spanish football club FC Barcelona to mark its 30th anniversary. The match against FC Seoul will be held on July 31st at Sangam Stadium in Seoul. This will be FC Barcelona's first visit to Korea in 15 years since 2010.
Yoon Hong-geun, chairman of Genesis BBQ Group, held a press briefing at the Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, that day and said, "I founded this company with the intention to open a new era of taste in the global market with 'the taste of Korea,' and this year marks our 30th anniversary." He added, "As a gesture of gratitude to consumers who have been with us during this period, we invited FC Barcelona and prepared the Seoul match event with FC Seoul."
BBQ has secured 30,000 tickets for the '2025 FC Barcelona Asia Tour Seoul Match.' The tickets will be distributed to consumers who have loved BBQ chicken through the 'Golden Ticket Festa' event, which will run for 45 days from July 11th to July 25th.
All consumers using the BBQ app or newly signing up will have the opportunity to enter. If a friend is referred and a person signs up, they can also gain an entry opportunity. Additionally, when purchasing a chicken through the BBQ app, an entry ticket will be automatically issued for each chicken bought.
A BBQ official noted, "This event signifies that every citizen is given at least one opportunity to enter the ticket lottery, embodying our meaning of celebrating BBQ's 30th anniversary together with the public. This is not simply a marketing ploy, but a message of gratitude for the past 30 years and a promise for the next 30 years."
In addition to FC Barcelona Seoul match tickets, various gifts are also prepared. These include ▲ random cheese balls (5 pieces) ▲ sausage on a stick ▲ long cheese sticks ▲ french fries ▲ lemon boy, among others, through the BBQ app.
The Seoul match tickets will also be given to the highest customers in orders during the period. A BBQ official said, "We plan to award tickets weekly to customers who make many purchases through the BBQ app during the event period."
To convey the significance of the event, BBQ will also operate some tickets separately for underserved communities. If overseas consumers win the lottery, they will also be provided with accommodation support. There are plans to produce various FC Barcelona commemorative goods, including cheering sticks.
FC Barcelona, which is visiting Korea this time, won the Copa del Rey (Spanish King's Cup) final against Real Madrid. They also became champions in La Liga for the 2024-25 season. With this, FC Barcelona has secured both major trophies in Spain this season.
