For the second consecutive day, the internet bookstore YES24 has been identified as having suffered a ransomware hacking incident, causing access issues on its website and application.

The access error occurred around 4 a.m. on the 9th. After the incident, YES24 initiated security measures and reported to relevant authorities, including the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), while also analyzing the cause of the incident and assessing any damage.

YES24 stated, "The investigation confirmed that there was no leakage or loss of member personal information, and all data, including order information, is still securely held."

They further remarked, "We are doing everything possible for a rapid service restoration and expect to resume services shortly."

YES24 is preparing compensation plans for customers and related parties. Along with the normalization of service access, specific compensation plans based on the extent of damage will be announced publicly and communicated individually.

YES24 expressed, "We sincerely apologize once again for the inconvenience caused during the service. We will strengthen thorough inspections and preventive measures to ensure that similar disruptions do not occur in the future."
