Lotte Department Store announced on the 3rd that it will unveil 'The Pairing,' a massive wine dining experience specializing in 'wine pairing.'
The Pairing opened on the 6th floor of Lotte Avenue L in Jamsil, covering an area of 185 pyeong. It offers suggestions of over 1,000 types of wine based on individual preferences. Unlike typical wine dining, where wines must be chosen by the bottle, customers can select wines by the glass to complement various dishes.
In addition, customers can experience the dishes of four top chefs from famous dining establishments in Korea all in one place. It will showcase 18 reinterpreted menus, including representative dishes from Chef Byeong-jun Yoon of Le Mont du Vin, known for its 2-star Michelin restaurant, Chef Won-gi Moon of Moa, Chef Han-yi Jang of Sab Seoul, and Chef Jeong-han Kim of Mood Seoul.
The selection of recommended wines was directly participated in by Choi Jun-sun, a sommelier affiliated with Lotte Department Store and the winner of the 2020 Sophex Asia Sommelier Competition.
To maximize the customer wine pairing experience, The Pairing will also hold 'regular collaboration dinners' in collaboration with famous chefs and wineries across the country.
Through collaborations with renowned chefs both domestically and internationally, it will sequentially present representative menus and plans to host invitation events featuring global wineries such as Zenato, Antinori, and Errazuriz from this month through August.
In addition, to celebrate the store opening, a commemorative promotion will be held. Premium wines and champagne will be sold at a 30% discount, and a limited number of guests will receive a glass of 'Palmer Brut Reserve' champagne as a welcome drink with their meal order on a first-come, first-served basis.
Additionally, at the end of this month, there are plans to unveil a special pairing dinner that allows guests to experience about 20 vintages of the top 5 classified Bordeaux Grand Cru wines simultaneously.
