On the 2nd, Genesis BBQ Group, which operates the chicken franchise BBQ, announced that it has opened three stores in Oregon, USA.

Oregon, where BBQ has recently expanded, is the 32nd state among the 50 states in the U.S. where BBQ has entered. With this, BBQ has established the so-called K chicken belt in the U.S. West Coast region.

The first store in Oregon is the 'Beaverton location,' which is a large store covering 350㎡ (about 106 pyeong). It sells not only chicken but also Korean dishes such as tteokbokki and kimchi fried rice. Beaverton is home to global tech corporations, including Nike's headquarters, and is referred to as 'Silicon Forest.' It is one of the areas where demand for Asian food is increasing. In addition, BBQ has also opened the 'Downtown Portland' and 'Southeast Portland' locations in Oregon.

BBQ is expanding its stores across the United States, starting with the store on 32nd Street in Manhattan, New York. A BBQ official noted, "With our entry into Oregon, we have completed the West Coast region belt along with Washington and California, and this year we will focus on expanding into Central and South America, aiming to promote K-food and the BBQ brand."
