Kolmar Korea announced on the 2nd that regulatory officials from major Asian countries visited the Kolmar Korea Comprehensive Technology Center on the 30th of last month. About 20 attendees were present at the visit, including officials from the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM), the Thai Food and Drug Administration (Thai-FDA), and the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (PH-FDA), among others from seven Asian countries.
This visit is part of a field trip program held to commemorate the ’2025 One Asia Cosmetics Regulatory Innovation Forum’ hosted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The Kolmar Korea Comprehensive Technology Center is regarded as the most representative place to experience the innovative technologies of K-beauty, leading to the scheduling of the visit. Kolmar Korea is the only corporation that had a field trip during the visit.
The Kolmar Korea Comprehensive Technology Center is the country’s first integrated research institute combining cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and health functional foods. Over 600 professional researchers are developing various convergence technologies.
During the visit, regulatory officials from the Asian region had the opportunity to communicate directly with Kolmar Korea management and toured the center’s major research facilities. At the Chroma Kolmar Studio, a customized space for developing color cosmetics, they also experienced color mixing firsthand, immersing themselves in the creativity and technology of K-beauty.
Kavitha Sathasivan, Director General of the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) in Malaysia, said, “It’s even more reassuring to visit a corporation I have often encountered through documents and confirm its technological capabilities,” adding, “I could certainly feel that the success of K-beauty, which is very popular in Asian countries, comes from such solid research and development capabilities.”
Choi Hyun-kyu, CEO of Kolmar Korea, stated, “I expect this visit to be an opportunity for Korean products exported to various Asian countries to leave a better impression,” and added, “We will continue to strive to strengthen the position of K-beauty in the global market based on our world-class technology and know-how for co-growth with our clients.”
