LOTTE Corporation announced on the 1st that it will begin a no-stop automatic payment service using Hi-Pass at the LOTTE World Tower and mall parking lots starting on the 2nd.
Vehicles equipped with Hi-Pass terminals can automatically pay parking fees upon exit, allowing for a quick no-stop experience in the parking lot.
LOTTE Corporation explained that it officially launched the service after signing a business agreement with LOTTE Innovate and the Korea Expressway Corporation in November of last year and conducting a pilot operation. The LOTTE World Tower and mall parking lot was used by approximately 3.04 million vehicles last year.
The company noted that with the introduction of the Hi-Pass system, the time saved per vehicle is expected to be up to 24 seconds compared to the existing unmanned card payment system. This also leads to a reduction in greenhouse gases by 31,582 kg annually due to less vehicle idling.
Customers using related facilities such as LOTTE Cinema and the LOTTE World Aquarium can automatically have their discounted fees paid through Hi-Pass if they register discount information using a pre-payment machine while holding a discount ticket.
Choi Young, Deputy Minister of LOTTE Corporation, said, "With the introduction of the Hi-Pass parking system through collaboration with the Korea Expressway Corporation, we are able to provide a smarter and more convenient customer experience."
