According to industry sources on the 30th, Shinsegae Group announced the appointment of Kim Soo-wan as head of management support at the management strategy office. Kim previously worked in the group's strategy office and has held positions such as the corporate social responsibility (CSR) manager at Emart before taking over as the head of Emart's U.S. subsidiary for over eight years since the end of 2016.

The management strategy office serves as a control tower supporting the senior management of Shinsegae Group and operates through management oversight and management support divisions. Management oversight is primarily responsible for tasks related to finance, administration, and management diagnostics, while the management support, newly led by Kim, oversees tasks such as human resources and auditing.

Shinsegae Group is expected to carry out additional appointments for the U.S. subsidiary of Emart, which became vacant, along with other follow-up personnel changes after the elections. This move is interpreted as an effort to enhance efficiency by dividing management support and public relations and governmental affairs roles ahead of the inauguration of the next government.
