Global beauty corporation APR announced on the 28th that it has posted a notice regarding "consumer damage prevention related to counterfeit products" on the official mall of its representative beauty brand "MediCube." This action comes as instances of consumer damage have increased with the distribution of counterfeit products made in China on domestic and international open markets, coinciding with the rising popularity of MediCube.

Counterfeit product sellers opened stores on open markets and disguised themselves as stores selling genuine products by copying photos from MediCube's official mall or sales pages. It has been revealed that they use a method where counterfeit products are delivered after consumers choose to purchase.

Currently identified counterfeit products include ▲PDRN pink peptide ampoule ▲PDRN collagen capsule cream ▲PDRN exosome shot ▲collagen night wrapping mask, as well as products that have consistently gained popularity since their release, such as ▲deep Vita C capsule cream ▲zero exosome shot, particularly popular in overseas markets.

These counterfeit products improperly use the MediCube logo and have packages and containers made similarly to genuine products, making it difficult for consumers to distinguish between genuine and fake products. However, differences have emerged in physical products, including variations in the formulations, as well as typos and spelling mistakes in product names and descriptions.

Additionally, the information on "responsible sellers of cosmetics" that is mandated by law is noted to have addresses that do not exist in the country, with spacing and character spacing recorded in violation of Korean language rules.

APR urged consumers to make purchases exclusively from the official MediCube sales channels instead of unverified open markets to prevent damage from counterfeit products. Currently, MediCube products are sold through official channels such as its official mall, Smart Store, Olive Young official mall, and Kakao Gift, as well as offline stores like the Hongdae and Apgujeong flagship stores and the Hyundai Department Store in Pangyo.

An APR official stated, "The manufacture and sale of counterfeit products not only infringe upon the intellectual property rights of corporations but also undermine trust in K-beauty, posing a serious threat to consumer health." They added, "To prevent further damage, it is essential to purchase only from official sales channels."
