On the 23rd, Shinsegae Group's e-commerce platform SSG.com announced that it will partition its SSG Pay, a segment of the easy payment business, to establish Platinum Payments.

The newly established entity is expected to be incorporated as a subsidiary of SSG.com simultaneously with the company partitioning on July 1. Emart, which has SSG.com as a subsidiary, will become a grandchild company.

SSG.com stated that this corporate partitioning is a decision to enhance the specialization of the simple payment service, increase versatility, and improve management efficiency.

An SSG.com official noted, "We will enhance business specialization by operating the commerce and payment businesses separately, and we expect to be more faithful to consumer protection and increasing the value for customers and partners."

The newly established entity plans to strengthen cooperation with external businesses as a specialized simple payment company of Shinsegae Group, expand its user base, and increase competitiveness. The company expects that by establishing an independent easy payment operator, it can manage customer and partner payment data and funds more stably and may consider expanding additional services.
