Hanwha Group's newly launched OURHOME held a vision declaration ceremony to clarify its direction, goals, and future blueprint, the company announced on the 22nd. Kim Dong-seon, vice president and head of future vision at Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, who led the acquisition of OURHOME, decided to join the company without pay. Vice President Kim is the third son of Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-yeon.
According to OURHOME, the 'OURHOME Vision 2030' event was held at the OURHOME headquarters in Seoul on the 20th. This was the first official event held since OURHOME was incorporated into Hanwha Group on the 15th, and about 400 employees participated in the declaration ceremony.
OURHOME aims to enhance the market competitiveness of its core institutional sector, meal service and food supply, while securing new growth engines such as the restaurant business, to reinvent itself as 'the number one comprehensive food corporation in the country.' The company plans to actively target new overseas markets, focusing on its core meal service sector, home meal replacement (HMR), and restaurant business.
Kim Tae-won, CEO of OURHOME, said, 'By 2030, when OURHOME's new vision is realized, we will achieve sales of 5 trillion won and an operating profit of 300 billion won,' adding, 'We will leap forward as a truly leading comprehensive food corporation in the country.' He also noted, 'Through the development of global exclusive brands, we will achieve the number one position in overseas sales within the industry,' stating, 'In doing so, we will lead the globalization of K-food, including meal services.'
The integration between the two companies will be pursued to maximize positive synergies based on the strengths of each company. The strategy is to create a better OURHOME by collaborating with the distribution service sector of Hanwha and leveraging the market competitiveness of OURHOME, which has shown various achievements in the food market. In particular, there are plans to expand businesses that incorporate technologies such as 'kitchen automation' in collaboration with Hanwha Robotics and Hanwha Food Tech, which are focusing on developing advanced technologies like robotics.
Kim Dong-seon, considered the key contributor in the process of acquiring OURHOME, joined the company as head of future vision alongside the vision declaration ceremony. He decided not to receive compensation until the new OURHOME achieves organizational stabilization.
Vice President Kim stated that he aims to significantly enhance OURHOME's market competitiveness through ▲cost reduction via expanding the value chain ▲improving pre-processing efficiency in production logistics ▲securing world-class kitchen automation technology. As the head of future vision, he is responsible for establishing the blueprint for the distribution service and machinery sectors of Hanwha Group, and expressed his ambition to grow OURHOME into 'a corporation that leads positive changes in the world, not just a profit-driven enterprise.'
On that day, Vice President Kim referenced Hanwha Group's founder, Chairman Hyun-am Kim Jong-hee, and Apple's Steve Jobs, stating, 'Unlike merchants, entrepreneurs should benefit the world through their business.' He added, 'Rather than simply pursuing profits, we will engage in businesses that can find meaning and value.' It is said that Vice President Kim's management philosophy reflects the background of Hanwha's acquisition of OURHOME.
Moving forward, OURHOME's new business will reflect this philosophy and determination of Vice President Kim. He stated, 'I will pursue our goals with the mission of providing health and joy to people through excellent meals,' and pledged, 'I will do my utmost to ensure OURHOME is remembered as a representative corporation that positively changes the food culture of the world.'
