CU announced on the 15th that it will become the first convenience store chain to launch delivery and pickup services through Naver Plus Store's "Naver Now Delivery" service. Naver Plus Store is Naver's shopping service enhanced with an AI (artificial intelligence) based personalized shopping recommendation feature.
CU's Naver Now Delivery service can be accessed through the "Now Delivery" menu on the Naver Plus Store app or website. Delivery services are available at CU locations within a 1.5 km radius for a delivery fee of 3,000 won with a purchase of 10,000 won or more, and a 3,000 won discount coupon can also be used for purchases of 20,000 won or more.
Purchasable items include a total of 3,000 products that have high purchase frequency among consumers, such as convenience meals, desserts, alcohol, everyday items, ice, and instant coffee.
Next month, CU will also launch a service allowing customers to check for the nearest CU stores through the "Find Near Me" function in the Naver Now Delivery menu. Additionally, customers will be able to check promotional items, such as the '+1' giveaway event or single item discounts, at each store.
CU will start the service at 3,000 locations from today and plans to gradually expand the service to an additional 4,000 locations after stabilizing it.
Jeong Hwan, head of online commerce at BGF Retail, noted, "In the future, we will continue to invest in quick commerce to provide customers with a convenient shopping environment by utilizing the largest store network in the country."
