The chicken ice cream is a unique product that looks like chicken on the outside but is actually ice cream on the inside. Since last summer, it has provided fresh fun and experiences for consumers across the U.S., creating a social media craze. It garnered such a strong response that it sold out, despite being a high-priced item at over $100 (around 150,000 won) for a set of nine.

CU quickly planned the chicken ice cream, noting that interest in this product has consistently increased domestically. CU's chicken ice cream features a realistic appearance that replicates a chicken leg shape and freshly fried batter.

The outer layer is wrapped in corn crunch to mimic the crispy texture of real fried chicken, while the inside maintains the chicken leg shape with smooth milk ice cream coated in white chocolate.

CU's chicken ice cream is priced at 2,800 won. This is more than 70% cheaper compared to the price of chicken ice cream in the U.S., which is approximately 150,000 won for a set of nine pieces, or 16,000 won per piece.

Han Jeong-joo, MD of the snack team at BGF Retail, noted, "Recently, interest in famous overseas products has increased through SNS and other platforms, so we are focusing on rapid product planning to satisfy customer curiosity." He added, "In the future, CU will continue to concentrate its merchandise development capabilities both domestically and internationally to offer differentiated products that provide consumers with new experiences."
