Shinsegae Property announced on the 9th that all retail establishments operated by the company have been designated as 'food safety zones' by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
A food safety zone is a system in which the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety certifies a multi-use facility as a food safety zone when more than 60% of the restaurants among 20 or more in the facility are designated as establishments with sanitary ratings.
The Shinsegae Property stores designated this time include ▲Starfield (Hanam, Goyang, Anseong, Suwon, COEX Mall) ▲Starfield City (Wirye, Bucheon, Myeongji) and ▲The Shops at Centerfield, totaling 9 locations. It is the first time that all business sites currently operating in the domestic retail industry have been designated as 'food safety zones.'
Shinsegae Property has obtained sanitary ratings for 351 out of 434 food and beverage (F&B) stores, which corresponds to 81%. Previously, Shinsegae Property strengthened the management of food safety at all its stores after signing a 'Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Mutual Cooperation in Food Safety' with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in December 2023.
A Shinsegae Property official noted, 'We plan to fulfill our role as a leading company in promoting a clean and safe dining culture so that customers can enjoy reliable food safely across all aspects of our business.'
