Daiso recently announced on the 7th that Dongkook Pharmaceutical and AHNGOOK PHARMACEUTICAL officially opened for sales. With this, the number of pharmaceutical companies listed at Daiso has increased to a total of five, including Chong Kun Dang, Daewoong Pharmaceutical, and DXVX.
According to Daiso, Dongkook Pharmaceutical listed the health product "Madeca Liposome Retinol C" starting from the 30th of last month. This product is classified as a health supplement (health food), but Dongkook Pharmaceutical noted that it has skin improvement effects. Furthermore, starting from the 3rd of this month, AHNGOOK PHARMACEUTICAL began selling health supplements "V-Pack for Men," "V-Pack for Women," and "Choline Myo-Inositol 4000."
Since February 24, Daiso has started selling over 30 types of health supplements from Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Il-Yang PHARM, and Chong Kun Dang at more than 200 stores nationwide. Daiso's health supplement products are gaining consumer attention with their affordable prices ranging from 3,000 won to 5,000 won.
However, some pharmacists showed signs of a boycott against the products of pharmaceutical companies listed at Daiso, and Il-Yang PHARM withdrew from the listing just five days later. The Fair Trade Commission is currently investigating whether there were any legal violations by the Korean Pharmaceutical Association in this process.
