Emart has been selected as an excellent company in the climate change response sector by the global sustainability management organization Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). This is the second time, following last year's award.

According to Emart on the 1st, Emart received the 'Sector Honors' award at the '2024 CDP Korea Climate Change Response and Water Management Excellent Companies' ceremony held by the CDP Korea Committee at the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul Hotel in Yeouido on the 30th of last month. It is the only large discount store in the country to receive this award. Previously, Emart also won the 'Carbon Management Special Award' at the same event last year.

Emart received excellent marks for its expertise in operating climate change governance, managing and reducing Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions, and its ESG (environmental, social, and governance) activities, including renewable energy, biodiversity, and plastic recycling.

Lee Kyung-hee, the ESG officer of Emart, who attended the awards ceremony, noted, 'Emart is consistently striving to reduce carbon emissions' and added, 'We will continue to be a leader for the Earth's environment.'
