S2A, a subsidiary of Global Sae-A Group, announced on the 30th that it will hold the exhibition “Floating Lines” at the S2A Museum in Gangnam, Seoul, from July 8 to July 5.

This exhibition brings together the works of four female painters from different generations: Park In-Kyung (1926), Cha Myung-Hee (1947), Kim Mi-Young (1984), and Eom Yu-Jeong (1985), focusing on “lines.”

For the four artists, “lines” are the central structure of painting and a key element guiding aesthetic order.

The ink abstract work of first-generation female painter Park In-Kyung leads into the ontological line painting of Cha Myung-Hee, expanding into the works of Kim Mi-Young and Eom Yu-Jeong. Based on the freedom and liberation inherent in “lines,” they flexibly traverse boundaries of era, generation, culture, theme, medium, and tools, presenting the potential for expansion in contemporary abstract painting.

Through this, visitors can experience the formal continuity and intergenerational differences of the four artists constructed around “lines” in different times and artistic contexts.

S2A plans to pay attention to “lines” and “drawing,” which have been relatively underrepresented in Korean art history, as well as the works of female artists through this exhibition.
