On the 29th, comprehensive food corporation Paldo announced that it has signed a business contract with Indonesia's largest food and distribution company, Indofood Group, to sell Paldo products and expand its overseas market.
Paldo has decided to exclusively supply the children's beverage "Cute My Friend Pororo" (hereinafter referred to as Pororo beverage) using the distribution network of Indofood's distribution subsidiary, Indomarko. To achieve this, they plan to conduct promotional activities together with Indomarko and expand the range of products handled.
The Pororo beverage is the number one brand in the domestic children's beverage market. Since its launch in April 2007, approximately 800 million units have been sold. In 2018, it became the first children's beverage in South Korea to receive halal certification from the Indonesian halal certification body (MUI).
A Paldo official noted, "This contract allows Paldo to enhance its local competitiveness through partnerships with large corporations that have extensive distribution networks in Indonesia, and we aim to take the lead in promoting Paldo products as representatives of K-food in the local market starting from this opportunity."
