According to a comprehensive report by ChosunBiz on the 28th, Pulmuone is in the process of selling 100% equity of its Chinese subsidiary, Pumeiduoerhou (China) Co., Ltd., to a Chinese corporation. The sale process is expected to be completed by next month at the latest. The sale amount is reported to be around 10 billion won.

Pulmuone has local subsidiaries in Beijing, Shanghai, and Chongqing. It established local subsidiaries in Beijing and Shanghai in 2010 and entered Chongqing in 2013. The Beijing and Shanghai subsidiaries produce and sell fresh and frozen food locally. In Chongqing, they produce health functional foods and skincare products. They also operate a store selling eco-friendly organic products locally.

Pulmuone's sales in its Chinese subsidiary for the first to third quarters last year were 64 billion won, similar to the previous year (62.1 billion won). While they temporarily succeeded in turning a profit since the establishment of the subsidiary, they are reporting a cumulative loss.

A Pulmuone official noted, 'We are proceeding with the sale due to changes in the global market environment,' adding, 'After deriving successful cases from domestic operations, we plan to establish a strategy to expand this overseas.'
