On the 25th, NARA CELLAR, a domestic wine distribution company, announced that the premium sake 'IWA5 Assemblage5' officially imported and distributed by them will be available at the House of Shinsegae Wine Cellar in Shinsegae Department Store, Gangnam.
NARA CELLAR noted, “This entry is the first case of showcasing a sake brand at the House of Shinsegae and is expected to be an important milestone in promoting the expansion of premium sake in the domestic market.” It added, “To commemorate this entry, we will hold a tasting event at the House of Shinsegae on the 26th, where 'Assemblage5' can be experienced first in the country.” The tasting event will take place twice, at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
NARA CELLAR stated that 'IWA5' is a premium sake brand born from the expertise and experience of the legendary five cellar masters, Richard Geoffroy, who led the champagne representative 'Dom Pérignon' for 28 years, and described it as having opened a new horizon of sake where tradition meets innovation and technology meets emotion, through collaboration with the Shiraiwa Brewery in Toyama Prefecture.
This event will feature Charles Antoine Picard, the general CEO of 'IWA5,' visiting Korea to showcase 'Assemblage2' and 'Assemblage5,' the representative sakes demonstrating the aging potential of 'IWA5,' providing a special opportunity to experience them firsthand. The number '5' contains the meaning of a rich taste experience satisfying the five senses and symbolizes 'harmony' in France.
Chairman Ma Seung-cheol of NARA CELLAR explained, “The 'Assemblage5' being presented this time is the first blended sake created through the harmony of various ingredients. 'Assemblage' means 'combination' or 'mixture' in French.” He elaborated that it was carefully crafted using three types of sake rice: Yamadanishiki, Omachi, and Obakumansoku, along with five types of yeast, and completed with a minimum of 14 months of bottle aging for a deep and refined flavor.
