GS Retail announced on the 16th that it has partnered with GS Sports to launch a sports-specialized store themed around professional football club FC Seoul near Hongdae IPGU Station in Mapo District, Seoul.
This collaboration was planned to celebrate the 20th anniversary of GS Group and to provide customers and fans with a differentiated experience.
The specialized store, measuring 144㎡ (43 pyeong), features an exterior designed to resemble a football stadium with diagonal structures and the symbolic color red representing FC Seoul. A large sculpture of FC Seoul mascot 'Seed,' standing 1.5 meters tall, has been installed at the entrance, and artificial turf has been laid on the store's outdoor terrace to create a football field atmosphere.
Inside the store, the left side resembles a regular convenience store, while the right side is designed as a dedicated space reminiscent of the FC Seoul players’ locker room. This dedicated space sells over 80 types of merchandise, including uniforms, clothing, and cheering supplies, and also includes a photo zone and chairs with football designs for fan experiences.
GS25 will hold various events starting from the 17th in conjunction with the store opening, including a photo event with FC Seoul players (drawing), limited edition pin badge giveaways (first-come-first-served), and a lucky draw for merchandise.
The specialized store will be operated as a permanent location rather than a one-time pop-up. Including this FC Seoul store, GS25 now has a total of five sports-specialized stores, including those themed around Hanwha Eagles and LG Twins. GS25 aims to expand its offline presence for sports fandom while simultaneously enhancing its brand image and sales.
