Oh My Gat Sparkling Spring Flower, created by Song Do-hyang, won the grand award at the 2025 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards.
The Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is the representative liquor competition of South Korea, now in its 12th year. Since 2014, ChosunBiz has hosted the event annually with the goal of 'discovering and promoting quality domestic liquor and supporting the formation of a healthy drinking culture.'
This year's event featured 236 companies showcasing a total of 1,008 brands, making it the largest scale among domestic liquor competitions dealing with general liquor. Among these, 431 brands received the Daesang.
According to Song Do-hyang, Oh My Gat Sparkling Spring Flower is a sparkling rice wine that ferments magnolia petals harvested in spring, infuses them into the liquor, and adds carbonation for a refreshing touch. It offers a rich tropical fruit aroma and a subtle magnolia flower scent, making you feel as if you're drinking a sweet and tangy sparkling wine.
Song Do-hyang is a brewery that inherits old traditions while incorporating scientific brewing techniques. It is also the brewery that creates the region's first specialty liquor brand, Samyangchun.
A representative from Song Do-hyang said, 'This liquor delivers a subtle, fine bubble that lingers on the tip of the tongue, offering a bitter yet clean finish,' adding, 'It is a refreshing, highly drinkable sweet and tart liquor, similar to the Italian wine Moscato d'Asti.'
